Prof. Victor R. Baker will give a talk on “Geosemiosis” at the Helsinki Metaphysical Club on Tuesday, 16 October, at 2 pm. The exact location (lecture room in the university Main building) will be announced as soon as possible.

Victor R. Baker is Regents’ Professor and Professor of Planetary Sciences and Geosciences at the Department of Hydrology and Water Resources, the University of Arizona. Aside his work in geosciences, Prof. Baker has published articles on the interpretive nature of and the role of abductive interence in geological reasoning with reference to Charles S. Peirce’s semiotics and philosophy of science.
